The Senda Sursilvana Alpina is a six-day high alpine long-distance hike through the Surselva. It leads from Trun to Flims and offers impressive alpine landscapes, varied stages, and unforgettable nature experiences.
Details
Description
Each stage offers unique highlights: breathtaking panoramas of Oberalpstock, Tödi, and Tschingelhörner, roaring waterfalls, charming mountain villages like Pigniu, and idyllic alpine lakes such as Lag da Pigniu. Demanding sections and climbing parts require sure-footedness but reward with unforgettable views.
Along the way, huts invite you to stay overnight. Apart from that, there is hardly any infrastructure on the route. The Senda Sursilvana Alpina is a true high mountain adventure for hikers who want to experience the Graubünden mountain world away from roads and villages.
Important: this is the alternative route due to the renovation of the Cavardirashütte.
Hidden Gem
Early reservation of the huts is necessary for the tour, as the spaces are limited.
Safety Note
The tour should not be started in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar develops during the hike, you should turn back in time.
Equipment
For the long-distance hike, it is recommended: hiking backpack with rain cover, good hiking boots or trekking shoes with a solid profile, weather-appropriate clothing in layers including rain and sun protection, change of clothes, provisions and drinking water, trekking poles, a first aid kit, pocket knife, headlamp, maps, sleeping bag liner for huts, and personal hygiene items.
