Description

The Senda Sursilvana Alpina starts in Disentis. You can easily reach the starting point by public transport. The gondola lift takes you up to Caischavedra, the mountain station. On white-red-white marked paths, the hiking trail leads in slight ups and downs to the picturesque Lag Serein. There begins the white-blue-white marked ascent to the Brunni Pass. At the beginning still easy to walk on, the terrain becomes increasingly rocky from about 2400 meters.

The vegetation changes and block fields mark the path, steeper passages are secured with chains. At the pass, a panorama opens up with a view of the Oberalpstock and Brunnifirn. Ladder and chain passages lead to the flat fountains, the markings show the safe crossing. Then the path leads over scree and a well-developed path up to the Camona da Cavardiras at 2600 m.

Hint: Check the glacier conditions and take crampons with you if necessary. Ask the hut warden on site.

Important: The Camona da Cavardiras is being rebuilt. In 2025, the old hut will be open for the last time. The renovation work will begin in 2026. It is not yet certain whether the hut can be reopened in 2027.
