Description
This is the light version of the big Rhine Gorge round. Beautiful and varied trails in a beautiful gorge along the Rhine. Impressive views of the steep opposite walls of the gorge can be caught by looking up from the trail.
Hidden Gem
Versam-Safien station offers a cozy place to stop. Worthwhile alternative to walk the Ruinalta.
Safety Note
Objectively safe route. Those who want to cool off in the Rhine should not underestimate the current and power of the water.
Equipment
Trail running shoes, running backpack with drink, wind/rain jacket, sun protection, half-fare pass/GA etc. for public transport as well as money for stops along the route.
Directions
From Sagogn-Fanaus first on asphalt and then down the gravel road to the Valendas-Sagogn station - from there follow the Rhine Gorge shore path past the Versam-Safien station (possibility to stop and refill water) - continue along the path and cross the railway bridge to the other side of the Rhine - from there it goes steeply uphill to Ransun - follow forest roads and paths signposted "Trin Mullin" to the public transport stop.

By car via A13 motorway from Zurich, exit 18 Flims. To Flims mountain railways, Stenna parking. Or continue to Laax Murschetg mountain railways, parking.
By post bus to Sagogn-Fanaus for the start of the route.
