Description
On the path that was once really used for smuggling to Italy, you learn a lot about the smuggling era: about the goods, the smugglers themselves, but also about tricks and tactics on how to move to avoid possible dangers. The reasons for smuggling were varied. A lack of certain goods, high tariffs, and different legislation of territorial lords and states as well as bans and penalties promoted the secret, illicit border crossing. These trips were not always safe and often had to be carried out in the dark of night.
The smuggler experience in Maloja is an ideal combination of activity in nature, experience and learning, as well as play and fun in the family or group circle. Children are motivated to hike in the mountains and actively experience the landscape. Adults should not get bored either. It is an attractive mountain hike that takes you back hundreds of years and brings you closer to the history of the region and the life of earlier generations.
Hidden Gem
Ideal for children aged 5 to 12 years.
