Description
From Splügen (1458 m above sea level.M) follow the still young Rhine towards its source. Via Medels and Nufenen you drive through the Rheinwald to Hinterrhein (1620 m above.M sea level), the oldest Walser settlement in Graubünden. From Hinterrhein it is not far to the shooting range. During the week this is the end, but on the weekends you can get even further into the valley towards the Rheinquellhorn via a natural road.
On the other side of the Rhine, the route goes out the valley on a natural road. Via the old Landbrugg you get back to the village of Hinterrhein. If you like it easy to ride, take the cycle route no. 6 to Nufenen. Technically experienced people tackle the meadow path on the other side of the Rhine. From Nufenen the cycle route no. 505 "Rheinwaldroute" leads down the valley. You roll in an idyllic landscape along the Hinterrhein through the valley floor of the Rheinwald back to Splügen.
