Absinthe is probably the most wicked and legendary spirit in Switzerland, perhaps even in the world. But how did this come about and what makes the wormwood herbs, all mugworts, the plant genus Artemisia, so special? Artemisia are not only used in our kitchen and to drive away evil spirits. Almost every indigenous culture in the world uses herbs of this genus, for cleaning, for incense, etc. Immerse yourself in the wonderful, psychoactive world of mugwort with Fabian Reppel (head gardener of the Alpinum Schatzalp).

The Association of Friends of the Alpinum Schatzalp supports the botanical garden in its work. Every year, the association organises a long weekend on a special, horticultural theme. This year's "Remedy, Magic Cure, Poison" in the course of this weekend, Fabian Reppel is head gardener on the Schatzalp, trained gardener and studied horticulturist with his lecture at the Kulturplatz Davos.

The program of the evening consists of a short lecture about the wormwood herbs (genus Artemisia), their use and ingredients, but also about the history and production of absinthe, at the end there is a small sample of the products made by these plants.
