Description

It is recommended to do the circular route as a two-day trip, with an overnight stay at the SAC hut Sardona. The high-altitude hike from the Sardona hut to the Platten and Heitelsee is considered the "hiking highlight" in the Calfeisental. Throughout the route, you have the overwhelming mountain scenery from Ringel, Sardona to Gigerwaldspitz in view. The crystal-clear, smaller mountain lakes, Platten and Heitelsee, invite you to linger. The flora on the Chratzeri, with small raised bogs, is particularly lush and unique in early summer. The ridges and mountain peaks along the entire path are an ibex habitat.

Hidden Gem

The cozy tavern at St. Martin invites you to linger with a drink or a meal.

Safety Note

Depending on the weather, special caution is required. In some places – especially when wet – it can be very slippery.

Equipment

Good hiking equipment, very sturdy mountain boots.
