Maschgenkamm - Lake Murgsee

First it goes with the gondola to the Maschgenkamm. At 2020 m.a.s.l.M. you are already expected from a magnificent view and hike along the höhenpanoramaweg towards Zigerfurgglen. Continue past the Sächserseeli in the direction of Hoch Camatsch. From here you have a wonderful view of the Glarus Alps. Continue along a high-altitude path to the Erdisglumen at 2293 m above sea level.M. Now follows a descent towards Abendweid, from where the path then leads again slightly but permanently uphill via Chamm, past several small souls to the Schattenchamm. Now follows the descent from 2235 m.a.s.l.M. to the upper Murgseen at 1820 m.a.s..M. Before you start the descent to Mornen through the beautiful landscape, you deserve a break in the cozy mountain inn Murgsee. From the mountain inn it goes only downhill. The wild Murg Valley has a lot to offer. The lower Murgsee is a true natural paradise and you hike in the Murg Valley through the most beautiful and largest swiss stone pine stands in the canton of St. Gallen. Finally, the hike ends in Murg am Walensee. If you want, you can also take the Murgtalbus from Mornen or Merlen back to Murg or Unterterzen. Please reserve the Murgsee bus in advance, as there is no mobile phone reception in the Murg Valley. Murg can be reached on foot from Merlen in just under 2 hours. With overnight stay in the Murgsee hut with return hike on day 2 over the Mürtschental to Mornen.
