Description
on Saturday
The Graubünden mountain lakes and glaciers are full of corpses. The dead are also piling up in other picturesque places: under waterfalls and RhB viaducts, at vantage points and old places of worship. Not in reality, but in a regional crime thriller: the stories are eerily beautiful, the investigators are astute and firmly rooted in Graubünden, who in the end get hold of the imaginative, cold-blooded or driven murderers.
Regional crime novels score with well-known landscapes and culinary specialties. It is not uncommon for political, social or ecological concerns to be conveyed. In recent years, the genre has become increasingly popular and produces numerous new releases every year.
The small but comprehensive exhibition in the Old Schoolhouse Tschiertschen invites you to linger and read. She sheds light on Graubünden regional crime novels and their authors, illustrates their story, thinks about the investigating characters and lets the audience hear, see and invent crime novels. "Glacier Mummies, Water Corpses & Co." is based on the book "Murder Landscapes" by Thomas Barfuss, who explored the crime landscape of Graubünden in a research project of the Institute for Cultural Research of the Grisons. Annina Rodigari was responsible for the design. The project was initiated and led by Marie-Claire Niquille from Pro Tschiertschen-Praden. The exhibition is supplemented by a small library, a media library and interactive stations.
